FOLLOW our progress

Throughout the year, we will provide an overview of the progress made by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.  Each effort reflects our daily commitment to inclusive excellence and alignment with our institutional roles---convening, capacity coaching, catalyzing, and community building. In addition, these updates will serve as our documented actions in response to campus-wide stakeholder input.

July 1-September 1, 2022 Updates

  • Funded 19 Inclusive Excellence Grant proposals
  • Website Update: Developed ODI About Us section to include historical DEI efforts and guiding terms.  
  • Website Update: Created the Model for Advancing Diversity Education (MADE) Framework to articulate our customized approach toward diversity education.
  • Education Resource: Community DEI Toolkit has been created to include resources to read, watch, listen, engage, teach, and host dialogues on DEI-related content. 
  • Website Update: DEI Campus Inventory has been upgraded to allow users to log into the inventory and create, track, and update their submissions to improve the accuracy and consistency of information.
  • Website Update: Initiatives + Events tab was added to centralize and amplify DEI programs and activities happening from our office and around campus.
  • Education Resource: Added Diversity 101: Crash Course videos to introduce entry-level DEI content.
  • A draft of the inclusive excellence plan is online and seeking feedback. Please forward this information to your students, faculty, and staff for their input. The deadline for feedback is November 11, 2022, at 5 pm.
  • Staff Update: Dr. Tehia Glass joins the team as the Inclusive Excellence Fellow for Faculty Development.
