Mural (from Latin murus ‘wall’) Wall painting has been around since the beginning of humanity, but its modern roots can be traced to early 20th century Mexico. Since the 1930s, this popular art has been an important tool to raise awareness about social and community issues. Murals are also an important part of beautifying the urban jungle. In Charlotte alone, we have more than 60 murals throughout the city including a handful by both Nico Amortegui and Valentín Ramírez. In celebration of the Hispanic Heritage Month and the Latinx community in Charlotte, we invite you to join us on Wednesday, Oct. 4th for a conversation with Nico and Valentín about their art from 11:15 am - 12:05 pm, or for an afternoon workshop with Nico from 4:00 - 5:15 pm. Registration is required for both events, and space is limited.

Stay tuned for additional events for additional events!
