Atkins Library Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The Atkins Library Diversity & Inclusion Committee will focus its initiatives on developing concrete steps for staff to increase their understanding of diversity issues and facilitating opportunities for broadening awareness of diversity as an essential way of creating a fair and open-minded work environment. The Diversity & Inclusion Committee provides leadership and guidance to the Library by encouraging awareness about and discussions of diversity. Committee Charge: Collaborate, plan and participate in programs highlighting the Libraries’ commitment to diversity such as speakers, exhibits, presentations, and campus initiatives. Develop and maintain an effective ongoing staff training program designed to foster and ensure a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all library employees and users. This committee is charged to develop the library’s racial justice plan. Membership: Library Faculty & Staff-- Denelle Eads, Chair
