Implementing Comprehensive Accessible Resources Equitably (ICARE)

August 15, 2021
In partnership with the Mental Health Research and Practice Lab and ARCHES, ICARE is an equity implementation science initiative focused on providing case management services on campus and in the community. ICARE will be student-run and operated and will allow opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to gain experience on a micro, mezzo, and macro level. We are also working on publishing this equity implementation science initiative. We received our first internal grant to support this work and currently have four graduate students working in the division. Vision ICARE’s vision is to be a valued partner in building holistic, inclusive, and equitable behavioral healthcare services to UNC Charlotte and surrounding communities. Mission The mission of ICARE is to advocate, collaborate, and utilize equity implementation science to assist with and promote health equity services to UNC Charlotte and community members. Core Values 1. Authenticity: ICARE strives for excellence and recognizes that our differences make us stronger. Embracing the differences allows for more meaningful and genuine relationships. 2. Revolutionary: ICARE values creative, innovative informed decision-making to assist the UNC Charlotte and community in the safest and more efficient way possible. 3. Equity & Inclusion: ICARE acknowledges inequities in help-seeking services. ICARE commits to just and fair treatment and equal access to opportunity for every person. 4. Trust: ICARE aims to act with equality, integrity, and collaboration as a foundation to every relationship created. 5. Radical Collaborations: ICARE is dedicated to creating and sustaining relationships to achieve individual and collective goals.
