Mental Health Research and Practice Lab

August 15, 2020
The Mental Health Research and Practice Lab is directed by Dr. Sonyia Richardson. The lab focuses on clinical behavioral research to develop and test the effectiveness of novel interventions aimed at reducing suicide among Black youth. This includes identifying and removing barriers (practical, systemic, organizational, cultural) of mental health treatment for Black youth and developing impactful interventions to support improvement in mental health outcomes and eliminate resulting disparities. This lab is currently engaged in multi-funded research projects that are advancing efforts for the reduction of mental health symptoms and suicide among racially diverse populations from an intersectional perspective.
