PrEquity, Access, Mobility, & Inclusion in Communities

Three guest speakers are presenting in graduate level SOWK 7223 - Advanced Social Work Practice with Communities class. The course is taught in the second-half of the spring 2022 term in the online MSW program. The speakers will discuss community efforts which demonstrate a commitment to equity, access, mobility, and/or inclusion in the Charlotte region. One purpose is to increase student knowledge around community interventions. Guest speakers include Federico Rios, Assistant Director, Office of Equity, Mobility and Immigrant Integration at City of Charlotte; Pedro Perez, Executive Director of Charlotte Family Housing; and a representative from the City of Charlotte Community Engagement Division. The information the speakers share will connect to readings, other learning materials, and projects students in the course.
