The Women in Engineering program (WE Engage!) is a newly introduced diversity program that supports all women studying engineering, engineering technology and construction management in the William States Lee College of Engineering. WE Engage! seeks to promote the academic success and career development of women in engineering through programs that increase the recruitment, retention, graduation and job placement of women in the engineering profession. The goals of WE Engage! are to;
• To increase the enrollment and retention of women studying engineering, engineering technology and construction management in the College of Engineering by 15% by 2025.
• Develop a college to high school mentoring program between our female college of engineering students with female high school students interested in STEM focused careers to improve recruitment into the college of engineering.
• Increase awareness of college of engineering programs available in the William States Lee College of Engineering to the surrounding local community (engineering firms, high schools).
