Religious + Observances Calendar

A campus climate of inclusion and respect for cultural diversity extends to the variety of faith-based practices in our community.  As part of our commitment to inclusive excellence, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion has collaborated with the Department of Religious Studies and OneIT to develop a religious and cultural observances calendar based on major religions throughout the United States to serve as an educational resource to raise awareness, promote cultural inclusivity and sensitivity, and foster understanding of religious pluralism for both students and employees.

INSTRUCTIONS: To use the calendar, click on the particular religious holiday to view the description. Days marked with an asterisk (*) highlight instances in which an accommodation may be asked. There are two ways to integrate this calendar into your existing Google or Apple Calendar. You can click Subscribe to Religious Calendar and follow the instructions or you can scroll down to the bottom of the calendar and click the "Subscribe" button.

Notes: This is not a complete list of all holy days or holidays in all world religions. Regional and cultural variations are quite common and often vary dates in any given year.  Some days, particularly those that are calculated according to a lunar calendar and rely on sightings of the New Moon (e.g., Islamic holidays), vary according to region; other observances and dates (e.g., Buddhist holidays) vary greatly across cultures and strands of a tradition. Lastly, we have taken efforts to verify the accuracy of the information included below. If you notice any inaccuracies, let us know via email at dei-office@uncc.edu.
