ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office
UNC Charlotte ADVANCE Faculty Affairs and Diversity Office builds faculty diversity and promotes faculty success through research and programming on recruitment, re-appointment, promotion and tenure practices; policy reform; mentoring; leadership and career development.
School of Professional Studies
The UNC Charlotte School of Professional Studies (SPS) offers more than 30 professional development certificates and certifications to help professionals advance their careers. Specifically, the Employer Solutions program contains over 150 courses to meet organizational needs, including a growing diversity education and cultural awareness training portfolio.
Campus Accessibility
UNC Charlotte’s Campus Accessibility is committed to having an accessible campus for individuals with disabilities, including students, faculty, staff, alumni and visitors. Providing an accessible campus, both programmatically and physically, is considered one of the top responsibilities of our institution.
Center for Counseling and Psychological Services
CAPS at UNC Charlotte supports the holistic well-being and academic success of students and contributes to a healthy and inclusive campus climate.
Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office is a department within the Division of Student Affairs and serves as a key link between students and other areas of campus life at UNC Charlotte. Various programs are sponsored by the Dean of Students Office to promote opportunities for learning and growth during a student's college experience.
Division of Institutional Integrity
The Division of Institutional Integrity works collaboratively to provide: (a) Proactive and preventative education to the University community; (b) Actionable and strategic insights to University decision-makers; and (c) Creative and timely solutions that advance the University’s institutional plan and fulfill the University’s ethical and legal responsibilities.
University Ombuds
The University Ombuds program is a confidential, independent, impartial, and informal resource for faculty and staff to informally work through challenging workplace problems, dilemmas and conflicts. The Ombuds uses a number of interest-based techniques to help empower faculty and staff find productive, collaborative solutions.
Graduate School Ombudsman
The Graduate School Ombudsperson is a faculty member who helps graduate students navigate and manage conflict in a constructive way. The Ombuds listens to graduate students’ concerns, helps find possible solutions and looks for resources applicable to the situation.
Human Resources
The Employee Relations Office provides comprehensive services for both employees and managers/supervisors as regards the following policies and programs: affirmative action, discipline, diversity, employee assistance (EAP), equal employment opportunity, grievance, performance management, unemployment insurance, unlawful workplace harassment and/or violence.
Office of Academic Diversity and Inclusion
The Office of Academic Diversity and Inclusion (OADI) provides academic advising, transition programs, academic support workshops, peer counseling and tutoring and personal counseling. Moreover, the office serves as a clearinghouse for information and referrals to other university resources and academic support services.
Office of Adult Students and Evening Services
The Office of Adult Students and Evening Services (OASES) assists in recruiting and retaining a diverse, adult student population. OASES works collaboratively with academic units to provide advising, educational and social programming, honor society recognition, readmission services, scholarship opportunities and the 49er Finish Program.
Office of Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services works to ensure that students with disabilities have access to education and campus life at the University. Through collaboration, Disability Services facilitates accommodations, discourse and engagement to promote an accessible learning environment for all.
Office of Identity, Equity and Engagement
The Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement’s mission is to provide students an affirming and equitable environment committed to fostering a campus community that celebrates and supports expansion of identities through holistic development, education and intentional engagement.
Office of International Programs
The Office of International Programs provides a variety of programs and services strategically designed to engage faculty and staff, and provide them opportunities to help create a global perspective at UNC Charlotte.
Racial Equity Skills-Building Caucus
The Racial Equity Skills Building Caucus (RESB) is open to faculty, staff, and students who have taken the 2-day Racial Equity Workshop offered by Race Matters for Juvenile Justice.
Office of Civil Rights and Title IX
The Office of Civil Rights and Title IX is committed to supporting the University’s mission of maintaining an environment conducive to learning for all students and a professional workplace for all employees. We take active measures to create or restore a respectful, safe, and inclusive environment for community members that is free from discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and interpersonal violence.
Trans at UNC Charlotte
Trans at UNC Charlotte is a campus-wide partnership operated out of the Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement. The purpose of the Trans at UNC Charlotte website is to provide basic information, policies and support resources for trans students on UNC Charlotte's campus.
Veteran Services
The Veteran Services Office (VSO) supports the success of our military-affiliated student body. From processing GI Bill® benefits to providing the Veteran Student Lounge for study, the VSO is the central hub to promote a smooth and seamless transition for those choosing college after or during their service.
UrbanCORE
UrbanCORE (Community-Oriented Research and Engagement) is the hub of UNC Charlotte’s engaged scholarship ecosystem whose focus is to mobilize, assess and advance efforts that connect the University's interdisciplinary, urban research resources to community assets in order to "co-produce transformative solutions to societal issues and challenges."
Women + Girls Research Alliance
The W+GRA conducts and disseminates research on the social and economic status of women and girls in the Charlotte Mecklenburg region. W+GRA research is used to promote public dialogue, inform public policy and programmatic priorities, focusing on key areas such as education, employment, economic security, health and violence against women.
